In Shape & In Alignment with Starboard’s NRG Fitness SUP
Hello Wellness readers! It’s Ali, the intern, writing, updating and sharing my sweet experiences on the Nikki Gregg Fitness Board With Length of 10’5 feet, 30′ inches wide and only 4 inches thick this board is meant for optimal fitness. The Board is SUPer stable- while applying hugging/grounding, muscle & mindfulness for a complete fun energizing work out.
Hello Downward Dog!
This board is versatile!!! It has tie down points for resistance training- Holds steady on waves and glides silky smooth on glass water. With brushed carbon technology this board is light and easy to maneuver. However light this board may be- Nikki Gregg still puts me to shame.
J Myself and Jessica had a lovely time finding alignment, stretching and stabilizing out on Lake Mary Jane and playing with the different & many functions of the fitness board. Check Out www.waveofwellness.net for further information on paddle boarding and fun wellness tips to keep you stable, grounded, in shape and in alignment on the board and off!!

Speaking of alignment off the board- Earth day is around the corner! It is important to keep our earth clean everyday. If you see a bottle a plastic bag/trash wherever you are doing your daily routine- Please, take the time to pick it up. Jessica and I are proud to say that when we do our part, we can see more wildlife thrive.. How do YOU do your part? Post up pictures and share how you help your local neighborhood on our Facebook page! We want to know!! http://www.facebook.com/waveofwellness
Its Ali Here, With lots of love and gratitude for all of life- Over and Out!!
Switching Up the Stance
Hey Ya’ll! It’s Ali again ..bringing in another blog to integrate into your world! Jessica and I have been really playful lately and have taken a unique approach to see what else we can balance on. Call us a couple of balance nuts. Last week we were on the indo board and this week, we are land paddling. Now- I know, I know. What the heck is land paddling. Take a long board, a wooden board with 4 wheels in total, two on each side. Then, Take a paddle, subtract the end and add a semi circular nub at the end. This creates our land paddle, In our wellness training together we’ve been able to take SUP from the water onto the land- In times where the weather might be too cold, or if you don’t know how to swim very well this is an excellent alternative! By the nutty ways of our nature- Jessica and I are thrilled!
Indo Board Insights
Hey Y’all! It’s Ali with Wave of Wellness. WHAT A WEEK! After coming back from an explosive weekend with John Friend in Miami… balance and integration were two words on my mind that I wanted to incorporate into my body and spirit.. We all say and ask these things on a day to day basis right? Like..“How can I achieve more
balance?” “How can I fully integrate?” When we begin to ask these questions…. Answers and ideas float up on mental level…From mental to physical, physical to emotional, and from our emotional bodies we can see what we are holding on to/or what’s holding us back! Jessica and I discussed. We laid it all out the Indo Board.

Yoga Therapy for Children with Autism & Special Needs
For a long time I’ve wanted a career where I can help people and do something meaningful where I can really make a difference. This eventually led to my pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Psychology at FSU, although I still wasn’t sure which direction I wanted to take within this field. So, I took a career development course to narrow down my options & after many assignments including personality tests and interviewing professionals, I decided on Rehabilitation Counseling. This field involves working with individuals with disabilities (including physical, mental & emotional) and helping them to live as independently as possible. After graduating I got a job with Quest, Inc., a non-profit organization that does just that. I began my training on the employment side as a job coach where I would assist an individual at their new job with extra training and attention in various areas as needed. As the individual gained the necessary skills to perform their responsibilities, I would slowly fade out, until they performed all tasks independently. This work was very rewarding as I became close with these individuals and I developed a love for serving people with special needs.

Developing Present Awareness through Board Sports & Yoga
Upon reading an article, or an interview rather, with Deepak Chopra in Playboy Magazine (I know, totally awesome), I was struck with a thought I have to share. Playboy states: “These are uncertain times for many people and industries – for America itself. Is it a worthy goal to simply stay mindful of the present? In many ways not thinking carefully enough about the future is what got us into the financial crisis, the real estate mess, and the two agonizing wars.

Your walking fitness program has begun! Stick to Your New Year’s Resolution like Glue!
We all have good intentions to stick to our New Year’s resolutions to be healthier, feel &/or look better, lose weight, eat better, etc., as typically these are goal that are very important to us. But then our busy schedules get in the way & we find it harder & harder to adhere to our resolution, going back to our old habits, until eventually it gets put on the back burner or we give up on it completely. Failing to keep your resolution doesn’t feel good at all & is not a positive way to start your New Year.
