With a background in gymnastics & psychology, I’m drawn to activities involving movement, present awareness, & helping others lead a better quality of life, which makes wellness training a great fit for me. I have many influences and enjoy exploring a variety of adapted styles & techniques, which led to my creation of Bala Tula (a fusion practice of yoga, Pilates, Budokon, body weight conditioning & stand up paddleboarding). I specialize in Body Dialogue yoga, alignment & core-stabilization training for functional movement & athletic performance, using these principles as a platform for all modalities of my fitness instruction. I also founded & direct paddle races, like the Annual Lake Mary Jane Paddle Race & weekly series Paddle Race Tuesdays. I have a passion for travel & instruct national & international SUP Yoga & Bala Tula clinics, as well as lead international paddleboarding & yoga expeditions in fun & beautiful destinations. In my free time I race SUPs, surf, skateboard, marvel at nature, & rock out at concerts. I am a proud ambassador of Boardworks Surf, Werner Paddles, Local Honey Designs, Maui Jim, Performance Ski & Surf, Hinano Tahiti, GracedByGrit & Paddle Faster.

Last night we were approached by a guest who was concerned because we are NOT charging for our fitness program! Can you believe it?
The full story is that this guest is a fitness instructor in her home state (Virginia), and when she saw the free programs, she was actually concerned that the programs wouldn’t have much substance. She attended the Aqua Boot Camp, and was absolutely blown away. She says that your instructor is by far one of the best instructors she’s ever met! And that we should be charging for the programs, and that she would have paid, easily, $50 just for the Boot Camp!
Crazy, right? What a GREAT compliment!

I had an awesome time at the Vistana participating in Aqua Yoga with Janie!
The Paddleboard class was a blast. The instructor was calm and gave me a lot of pointers to help with my balance. By the end of the lesson I was up and paddling away.
Amanda, our Aqualates instructor, was friendly, and absolutely excellent at teaching. She was encouraging and kept our interest. Great skills and wonderful experience.
